What is the online gig economy?

Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide in 2020, the Online Gig Economy has grown enormously. What exactly is the Online Gig Economy?

In the online gig economy, instead of a regular wage, independent entrepreneurs get paid for each “online gig” they do, such as building websites, designing logos, writing blogs and repairing websites.

The online platform economy like Uber and Airbnb play an important role in the online gig economy but for people making money at home and online freelancers, online platforms like Fiverr and Upwork are as important.

I personally started to make money online from home with online gigs including writing eBooks on-demand as side-hustle in 2000 on Internet Marketing, Working At Home, Making Money Online & Online Freelancing.
