3 Signs You Need to Pivot Your Life Now

Morning,

The moment when change is necessary for your life, to ‘pivot your life, can be challenging to pinpoint. Sometimes we seem to hover on the edge of change, waiting for a reason to push us over the precipice. This is not always the case, though.

Sometimes the signs that you need to take a leap of faith to find meaning in your work instead of waiting to be pushed especially during a crisis like this one, are right in front of you, you need help to identify them and act.

Do you recognize those signs?

1. You’re low on energy and bored
You’re starting and ending your day with barely a drizzle of energy and feel bored by every moment of your day. If you often feel like that, it is really time to act.

2. You’re apathetic
You no longer care about your work, your home, your family or really anything pertaining to your existence. Note apathy is different from depression.

3. You’re jealous
The lives of others seem intriguing,  fun and happy, and you find yourself being jealous of them.

The question is what do you do if you recognise one or more of these signs, ‘pivoting your life’ as we call it. Take these necessary steps as quick as possible:

1. Find what & who energizes you

There has to be some part of your day, even a tiny part, that you look forward to. Something that leaves you feeling invigorated and that you hate to move on from. Once you identify that little piece, take the time to explore how you can make that a more prominent part of your day. Can you spend more time reading or writing, or maybe you really enjoy cooking dinner nightly?

The same things applies to the time you spend with people online and offline. What relationships energyze you and which relationships don’t.

2. Explore your interests and act

Similar to finding what energizes you, consider what interests you have had in the past or have now. Go back to the basics of those interests and look for more ways to incorporate them into your current life. This may include picking up a forgotten hobby or seeking a career path that allows you to do what you really love with less stress.

3. Question your jealousy

Jealousy can be an ugly burden to bear, but sometimes you need to question why you are jealous of someone else. Are you jealous of their personal work life? Are your jaleous of their position, their big house or their happy marriage?

4. Learn the right-skills and fast.
