Hello, how are you?
sometimes it seems like the Covid-19 crisis hasn’t changed anything if you read many blogs on LinkedIn for instance on the labour market, don’t you think? Large traditional training institutes would like to return to their old corporate business model and corporate ‘business as usual’ earnings model and that is:
Have managers and employees of large corporates and large government institutions follow expensive ‘business-as-usual’ training and courses for a lot of money that are paid by their boss and / or subsidized by the government.
And that includes that you should focus on “lifelong learning”, but what is that really?
“Lifelong learning” is really nothing more than that you should continue to learn throughout your life and that you should therefore constantly invest time, energy and money. Whether you work for a large organization or as an independent entrepreneur and whether the government pays for it or not.

After all, you have to be and remain employable and remain flexible to be able to pay your bills in the future. Whether you (still) have a permanent job or whether you are self-employed. And I compltely agree with that.
Focus on relevant life long learning.
However, what people and companies from the ‘old normal economy’ ‘forget’ to tell you is that you should spend you precious time, money and energy on ‘relevant’ life long learning. Why? Because most of the ‘old normal economy’ expensive traditional programmes, training and coaching is irrelevant during this Covid-19 crisis. You need to make your own personal survival plan including your personal right skilling plan and quick. Including a survival strategy for managers if you are an executive or a manager.
